We must find a way to love one another regardless.
I know it is not enough to state this simple fact. How can we each take action?
One way is to really look inside our own hearts for places where you and I might draw the line between “us and them.” Which humans do you dismiss as being less than? If the color of another’s skin isn’t your “divider,”then what is? Do you consider those who are poor to be less valuable? Perhaps you devalue people with less education, people who don’t speak your language, persons who might carry more weight than you think is healthy. Do you see the disabled as a problem for someone else to care about? Do you draw lines of demarcation between people of another religion, a different country or another political party? Do you dismiss the elderly as disposable or the young as being inexperienced.
Look in your deepest thoughts and seek your “us vs. them” ideas then let them go, erase them, eradicate them from your very being. There is no us and them… there is just us. Do this, and you will learn to live with more love.
We must find a way to love one another and each of us is responsible because the problem isn’t them… it’s us.
