I’m having fun pulling writings from the past 10 years or so together into a book. It’s still a ways off but this list just hasn’t found its place yet. I’m not sure when I wrote it or honestly, if I wrote the whole thing but I’m sure the last half is all me. 😋
However, the list does reflect truths that I think are so important in our changed world.
So many friends and clients share with me that they aren’t sure about being the truest version of themselves because they don’t trust their gut instincts or they think they’re not well educated enough. So many of us hold back to pursuing our passions because we need a certification or permission in some other form. Maybe you’ll see some aspect of yourself in this list. And if you do, may you give yourself permission to trust your instincts and pursue your dreams. Our improved version of planet earth will come from people doing loving, expressive, heart-felt things in new ways. Maybe you have the passions you have because you came here to help in just that special way that only you can.
Have fun. Light and love, suni 💖
Our modern society trained us in ways that are not helpful.
1- We need an authority or teacher with lots of certificates and degrees to teach us.
2- It’s not smart to trust your intuition.
3- Seek someone smart to tell you what to do
4- Seek people who agree with you to feel safe
5- God, if you believe in such a thing, is far away and must be called in to help us
6- God may or may not help you depending on your behavior and beliefs
7- People are basically flawed and must beg to be loved by a higher power or other humans
8- People with money are better, smarter, more valuable. Men are more valuable. People with light skin are… I can’t continue with this one but you get the point.
9- You must fit in to be accepted, to be included, to succeed.
10- If you can’t see it, test it, explain it… then it’s not real
11- Don’t expect your dreams to come true. Be vigilant for bad things that are likely coming to “get you. “
Now, all these statements are false. But we’ve lived in a world that holds these up as truth, obviously or subtly. Allow me to rewrite these 10 so called rules for life. There are many more but I’m hoping to inspire you here… so you can go rewrite many more.
1- You are a unique, wise being with a purpose that is different than anyone else. You have natural gifts and skills to accomplish your purpose. Learning from another is nice and can help you expand your viewpoint but can also just as easily snuff your spark out. Be careful how you learn and who you learn from. Take advice under consideration. If it makes you feel less-than, walk away.
2- Your brain is an onboard computer and great for remembering your mom’s birthday, planning your route for running errands and for remembering to dress for work. However, there is a higher source of wisdom in you. We access it by shifting our attention from thoughts to feelings, from head to heart or gut. In other words, rather than listening to our busy brain, we are going deeper within. Intuition is another word for this. Higher wisdom might be name for this source of direction.
3- People are always willing to tell us what to do but in truth, they can only tell us what they would do. They know their own strengths, weaknesses, biases, experiences and make suggestions to you based on themselves. But they don’t truly know your strengths, weaknesses, passions, purpose and experiences. You are the only one with your inside knowledge. So always allow yourself to be the final decision maker, as you’re the only one with the true inside information
4- You are safe always. You do not live in a world that is trying to eat you. You don’t need a group of people to protect you… or to give you value. You can be really lucky and find a tribe whose purpose resonates with your own. But you can march through life thinking a bit differently than anyone else. That would be beautiful because you can show/ live, teach new insights to the rest of us.
5- Many teachers agree that the beginning of the fall of mankind is when we began to believe that we are not divine. The holy was taken and placed outside of our reach to control us. The mystery of the unseen was discounted and we asked men of science to explain the mysteries of life. And today, the scientists are beginning to agree that there are many mysteries, and to me, they all lie in the land of spirit or consciousness and are inside each of us.
6- In my world, God or spirit, or the universe, source, central sun, goddess, higher power is the energy of life. That amazing energy, that spirit lives in me, in you, in all- with the plants and animals and the earth and in all worlds. I am of that magical elixir therefore I am loved and belong.
7- People came to earth to learn. We do that every day by living our lives. Some lessons are harder than others. Some feel like failures and others like successes… but all are just lessons. It’s the learning and growing that is important. We can’t fail. We will learn what we learn in this life then we will return to source, god, heaven, the higher realms and be welcomed as part of the whole. No bad grades, no failures. l.
8- Every living thing and even those things you don’t think of as living are perfect, valuable, beautiful, equal and worthy of our love and protection. ALL of it. Every bit. The parts you like and the parts you don’t. All precious.
9- You are part of the puzzle of life. Each puzzle piece is unique, beautiful and important to the change we are going through. Don’t try to fit into someone else’s puzzle picture… just be your groovy you and find your sweet path and purpose.
10- There is the seen world and the unseen, the physical and the spiritual, the practical/logical and the magical. It’s all real as is all the dreams you imagine can be. Trust it, live it and you can make it real.
11- You came here by choice to do a job at this important time in the world’s history. And you’re the only one who knows exactly what you intend to do. Unfortunately, you didn’t come with an instruction book… and when we incarnate on this earth, we forget a lot from before. However, the veil between the seen and unseen, the before and now is getting very thin. Often your true purpose is something that you were passionate about as a child. Or it’s that thing now that truly lights you up. Only you know that. Spirit is rooting for you to succeed. No one is out to get you. You need no one’s stamp of approval. Shine as only you can. Fear is the opposite of love. And our new world is built on love. You shine love from your eternal spiritual self. No fear. .. yes… release fear and let love, joy, compassion and truth fill all the space in you that opens up.
Very thoughtful and interesting. I read this several days ago but keep coming back to it in my mind. <3
Thanks, friend. You are better than most about not believing so-called “rules.” Keep up the good work and so will I. 💖
