suffering = pain x resistance

I love this Buddhist teaching. It saves me a lot of wasted energy. And I have used it over the past few days to open to the path my country has chosen into the future. But a really inspiring conversation with a friend recently gave me pause as he was very energized by the idea of resistance in the face of what may be coming for us all.

So it got me thinking about how important our words are and how I might consider both aspects of resistance. Continue reading “suffering = pain x resistance”

Why do I teach meditation?

Why do I teach meditation- Here’s how the discussion went at a gathering of a new meditation group

Are there questions from the group?
Don’t you love it. I have given you no info, yet I ask for questions? Ha!

Okay, how many meditated in the past week for 3 minutes or more?
Excellent.

How many of you even thought about meditation for at least a half a second? Excellent!

If you have done nothing in regards to meditation yet you came to the gathering tonight… excellent!!! You all are excellent. Good job.

Shadow and light

Are you eclipse excited or just “meh” about the whole thing?
I am excited, of course… the wonder and beauty of nature always trips my triggers. But I’m not as jazzed about physically seeing the event as I am realizing that it’s the energy of the eclipse that can affect us, whether we see it personally or enjoy the view from NASA photos.

The power of  words- said aloud or repeated in your mind again and again and again and…

My own lessons often  provide the best fodder for sharing. In the past few days, I’ve said or been told repeatedly about the power of words. So… guess it’s share time?

The words we say out loud are one category… “I’m fine,” “Oh that’s okay, I don’t mind,” or the ever popular, “It doesn’t matter to me.” Sometimes what we say aloud is exactly what we’re thinking. Those are the truthful times. Congratulations on those. Continue reading “The power of  words- said aloud or repeated in your mind again and again and again and…”

Sounds to heal

I haven’t blogged much about sound likely because I’ve been exploring so much. When I’m learning and exploring, it’s hard for me to stop and say, “Here’s what I know” because the knowing is growing.

I have arrived on a level with sound when I know I have enough to share and words to explain what a I know… perhaps.

sound and transformation

You are alive in a magical time of transformation. The world and her inhabitants are shifting levels. Truly, I think it’s the humans that are shifting. Our plant, animal, elemental friends, the earth, the planets, the cosmos… they’re already at a balanced, healing,  sustainable, loving, compassionate level. Now it’s time for humanity to evolve.

This transformation isn’t something that arrives external to you and fixes things so you feel better. The transformation is you, in you, of you… in and of each of us. Awakening, enlightenment, 5D energy… whatever you call it… to me the transformation is a simple thing.

“I live my life in widening circles…”

I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not ever complete the last one,
but I give myself to it.

I circle around God, that primordial tower.
I have been circling for thousands of years,
and I still don’t know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?
