I’ve been on a grand adventure in Peru. I’m still processing so much of what I experienced here. This blog allows me to share what I’ve made sense of so far… things that might be helpful to “normal people” like you. hehe. Although I know many of you are the “not normal” flavor and would have loved to have been trekking thru the Sacred Valley with me, my friends and the Q’ero teachers communing with nature beings and learning about Andean spiritual traditions and Incan archeology. Wow… that’s a mouthful. I’ll try to work on those run on sentences. Continue reading “Leveling up as a human”
Basic skills to build a new world
I get it that my chosen title is a bit grandiose. But we are building a new world and I’ve been reminded while here in Peru that there are some basic building blocks that not everyone was taught in elementary school that might help. So before wandering on thru more of what I’ve learned here, I figure it makes sense to begin at the beginning.
Being invited in
I haven’t blogged for awhile as I was traveling with a group. There were 12 of us who had been invited to share a really unique experience with the Q’ero tribe here in Peru.
The event is Hatun Karpay- the Great Initiation of the Inka to make the step to the 4th level of spiritual development. We visited many Inkan sacred sites, sometimes accompanying members of the Q’ero tribe and participated in their traditional ceremonies. Continue reading “Being invited in”
Many ways to see our world
This first stop on my journey, Wolf Totem Guesthouse, has been so interesting. This lovely hostel/hotel combination offers shared kitchen and community space to spend time with other travelers.
Notes on travel anxiety and how to wish someone well as they travel
Okay, fair warning. This post is not about Peru… but more travel in general. Consider that since I’m a solo-female traveler, maybe my perspective is different than some. Having folks think that my perspective is unusual is nothing new to me. LOL

connection
In my studies over the years, I’ve been so lucky to work with different people, different traditions, indigenous histories and spiritual points of view. I’m preparing now fo a trip to Peru to study with the Q’ero people. I’ve been reading about them, their history and ritual ceremonies.
everything changes… find the love in that
What happens when everything changes? I know if we were face-to-face, and I made that statement, muscles in your face might tighten, your shoulders would draw a bit towards your ears, your hands might clinch into fists.
These transformative times have affected us all in many ways. You might be the sort that says, “I just want things to go back to the way they were.” But in magical, evolving times, going back isn’t going to help us grow and elevate. Instead, here’s my perspective on how change is opening doors for me to see my world differently.

What to do in tough times?
I suppose I could have entitled this blog, “What to do ALL the time” but that sounds a bit too controlling so… let’s roll with it.
I have a friend who has gotten a very hard medical diagnosis. Several other friends shared this news with me. They’re shaken, sad, worried. But what can we do that might help? I say, as I always say, “I send them light and love.” But to many of you, that sound like some woowoo escape hatch and today, I want to take the time to explain what I mean by “light and love” and exactly why that can help. Continue reading “What to do in tough times?”
I believe I can.. and I believe you can too
A human being- body plus spirit- can accomplish almost anything. Sadly, too many of us have fallen into the habit of believing what someone told us once when we were 6 or 16 or 46… Continue reading “I believe I can.. and I believe you can too”
3 important points in our transforming world
I’m leading a meditative painting experience this weekend. Preparation involves a lot more than gathering supplies… I was meditating on how to begin the class to help them feel free, have fun and touch on the deeper meaning of what we will do.
I was visualizing opening the class… visualizing is another term for talking to myself… and I just loved the words that were coming. So I started typing them down. Why share it here? Because this message is the heart of everything I do. And most of you will not be in my class Sunday so… here it is. Enjoy! 💜
