the few things I can do and the many that I can’t

I was part of a discussion group recently where a friend was sharing how upset she gets, how much pain she feels from the challenges going on in our world today.  Issues from a dog lost in a local neighborhood to the situation in Afghanistan brought her to tears. She asked how we deal with all that pain. Another wise soul in the group offered her some feedback, the group closed. Later in the evening, this message came pouring out. This is indeed one way I manage the powerful sadness that can be generated if we immerse ourselves too deeply in the world’s challenges.

As we begin to experience the new energies here to help transform our world, I find it helpful to put my energy, my focus into what is new. New in ourselves and new in the world. We as multidimensional beings do not just dwell here in the land of the evening news. We are not limited characters acting out an old script. There is no script save one… love is our only path, our only course of effective action.

When the mind seizes on some trauma from the past or a crisis from today, stop. Take a deep breath then consider this question. “Is there an action I personally can take to resolve this issue?” If no, and often that is the answer unless the matter is personal to you, then we must let the issue go. Release it with love, sending love, light or prayers to those involved. We can visualize positive solutions, then detach.

Adopting the tragedies of the world as our own personal experience- attaching to, for example, the situation in Afganistan, can overwhelm us with emotion. The body responds to this experience as though it is happening to you. It is happening to part of humanity however, you are responding as though you were in it. You are not. There is no action you can take to affect change in regards to Afghanistan except- send money to relief efforts, send a prayer or your form of positive energy by visualizing peace there.

I acknowledge that people in the crisis are, as we all are, spirit in human suits. Their human selves have been taught by a damaged world. As we are awakening, they can too awaken. Our method to help is to be love in this world, to raise the vibration so they might elevate. Is it helpful for us to engage with the mess they have made in the old world system? When we allow our attention and our energy to be used up trying to fix that which is not ours to fix, we are distracted from those things which we can be effective with.

We can’t attach to these events  as we expend our energy without having any positive effect. If we detach from the event after taking any action we may, then we preserve our energy to devote to things in life that we can be effective with. You have a life purpose and if you expend too much energy in regards to events which you can’t change, then you have no energy to pursue your true purpose. Attachment to tragedies is almost a diversion from becoming the being you were meant to be.

Step back from that which you cannot personally affect change and look rather at your own path, your own strengths, your true purpose. Then walk on, putting your power into building your life in the most loving ways possible. Release the other person who may vex you. They aren’t “bad” guys, just the product of our broken world, broken systems.. Your worry, your words can’t help them.

Your only power in this life is to find a way to love them, to love the spirit in them and release them to the love. Then you can choose to turn your attention back to cleaning up your own damaged mess, building your life at a higher level in love. As you elevate, the love you manifest generates so much energy to lift others. Your life shines a bright enough light to help others find the higher path. It is not your words that will change another, it is your energy, your vibration, your light, your love.

Love is the only path. Be love and the rest will come
We love you, I love you

Love is our only path.
have fun!

Love is the only path.
